REFLECTIVE JOURNAL
Assalamualaikum and Hi Everyone!.
I want to share my experience that I obtained from this subject. In all honesty, at first I found this subject is trivial. I didn't have high expectation for what i would receive, and I'll consider this subject as a mere requirement to pass rather than something significant. Actually, it was a mites of my thoughts. Because the lesson that I got from this subject is super impactful and meaningful. Its like i flip the table. My perception towards this subject has changed. For me, its teach me on how be together in completing work is extremely effective to reach desirable outcome.
First, the lesson that I received is your task is mine and my task is yours. It means that the task assigned to me is an obligation and priority for me to do but it does not mean i can ignore the task given to others. While the delegation of tasks is generally fair, there can be an imbalance in the weight or difficulty level of the assigned tasks, with some individuals burdened with more challenging responsibilities than others. Therefore, we should have common senses to ask other whether they need help or not and don't just wait for them to ask for your help, you should be concern to them by voluntarily hand your help. Don't be selfish by concentrating on your own work because that's not how team is performed. I should take note on this.
Second, take the positive and strive for it. As we all aware, the proposed program is to teach an elite high school about English language. I wondered what else we could teach them when they already power in English's language. There were so many arguments and complaints that saying this program is a total lost. But, if we look at a optimistic perspective, we could work this program out. Rather than complaining what is fixed, we should together find initiatives on how to make it effective. Trust our teammates is a crucial point and don't create hatred on each other.
Third, put aside personal matters and be professional. This course has teach me in better controlling my emotions when deal with peoples especially teammates. Genuinely, I believe when people say avoid team up with your friends, it might worsen the relationship. Gladly, i learn on how to be professional by still engaging with the discussion and participate in contributing ideas even though i had problem at that time. Work is work, life is life. I sense that i have developed a greater sense of emotional maturity as I progressed through the assignment for this course. But yeah I'm still human. There was a time i could not control and fell into despair.
These are the lessons that i received from this course. If i recall, our first meeting was quite hectic but grateful to have our program manager and lecturer that give their full effort in understanding the team about the program. All the teammates also fast response to the work assigned to them. Besides, our second meeting is quite prepared as everyone including me was able to explain what the program is all about and voice out our concern about certain things. On the symposiums day, each team member will be responsible for presenting the proposed program to visitors who come to our booth at designated times. I had the opportunity to explain it to another lecturer, and he expressed confidence that our program has the potential to achieve great success. Things to be improved is about the last minutes order. it is because as student, we have planned our time properly such as when to study, when to do society club things, when to rest and so on. If last minutes order is given, it would affect the overall planning and will lead to unsatisfied outcome.
